Have you heard of WIP Wednesdays? The idea is that, as artsy/crafty bloggers, we only tend to show our finished products, which not only limits how much we blog, but isn’t as interesting as far as learning goes. It’s the unfinished, process pictures that teach others our craft. We should celebrate Work In Progress, not hide it.
This year, I am going to try to post at least a picture of something I am working on every Wednesday. If I have time, I will write a bit about it too. I’ve been working with tapestry wool and needlepoint a lot these days, so I’m looking forward to sharing that with you!
This first WIP is a new piece I’m calling Sorbet Pinwheels (with an elegant Windows error in the background!). I was about half way through when I decided not only did I love it, but I also wanted to make a pattern for it! I’ve been working on making images to teach the pinwheel technique, and the pattern is probably going to be available in my shop for a couple dollars. We’ll see!
If you have any questions about anything I post as a WIP, please ask! I may not write a full post for that piece for a while (or ever!) so ask away!
What are your crafty resolutions? Clean up your craft room/corner?
